Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Tips
chapter 7 bankruptcy information
A bank account & chapter 7 bankruptcy question?
I filed a chapter 7 bankruptcy in Atlanta Georgia 2 weeks ago. Everything is still very fresh, and I have not received my discharge yet. But in the meantime, things are looking good with the bankruptcy, as I've gotten all of my info in and have taken all the required credit counseling, and I was told by the trustees and clerks that the expectation of getting a discharge is looking good. But I have one concern, and that's re establishing good banking history. It's obvious I've had past credit woes, which is why I'm filing ch. 7 in the first place. With this being said, I'm on chexsystems with 4 banks which include Bank of America, Atlanta Postal Credit Union, Best Bank, and Suntrust. I included ALL of my delinquent bank accounts in the ch. 7. I also paid off BOA, but they still will not let me re open another account for another 10 years. It's their new policy now....they've been plastered all over the news here in Atlanta and worldwide for problems they've been having. I owe Suntrust, the credit union and Best Bank at least $500 a piece, so I want that creditor as well as all of my other closed bank accounts liquidated in the ch.7 as well. So I have 4 questions 1 After I receive my discharge, can I get approved with one of the other banks here in Atlanta? 2 How soon should I apply? 3 Is there a possibility that if I take my proof of filing and meeting of my creditors page, that they'll possibly approve me? 4 What is another good bank to apply to, that may approve me for sure? in Atlanta, the only ones that are left that's close to my home and job are Regions, RBC, Chase, Associated Credit Union, Fidelity, Wells Fargo, Citizen's Trust and Capitol City are also other options that I did not list, but I absolutely hate them and wouldn't try to apply to these anyway. As I've stated, I am aware of my bad credit woes, that's why I'm trying to make positive strides towards building not only good credit, but re building my life, and one of these areas is banking. So if you cannot help me, but without being rude, please don't bother to respond. Otherwise, Your responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks and God bless. Please advise...

Filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in California!?
My mom is filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, but unfortunately owns the tear town house next door. She was thinking of signing the house over to me and just giving it to me. Gee thanks, Mom. lol, this house is so broken down, I don't think it's even livable. but somethings better than nothing. So anyways, if she signs over her second house to me which is fully paid for in the state of California, I might add , then can she file for Ch.7 without getting in trouble for giving a house to a relative.Note she needs to file for bankruptcy because she owes lotsa credit card companies, has major debt, and hasn't been able to pay rent on this house she's been living in for 6 months She's not the best with her finances and at this point, bankruptcy is her only option. I'm not interested in people offering alternatives to filing. I'm asking if filing for Chapter 7 in this manner be LEGAL
What is homestead exemption in MN Chapter 7 bankruptcy?
I was researching Chapter 7 bankruptcy in MN... and wondering if I'm understanding it correctly...My husband owes $80K on his house.. what does the homestead exemption do for that? In MN it's a high amount, like $300k. Does he keep his house & the mortgage debt is wiped clean like the credit card debt he has no assets. Or does it mean if the house is valued at $100K, he gets the $20k of equity & they boot him out? How does he get the equity...

I recently filed for a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. The question is, I have a judgment against me from a homeowners association. What will happen to this judgment? The total amount is for $1300 and then there of course, are the legal dues that they spent at their attorney s office. Also, do any creditors usually show at the 341 meeting? My concern is the HOA attorneys.
