I could use some financial/debt advice?
I'm a 22 year old man from Ontario, Canada and I am about $12,000 in debt right now. I have a maxed out credit card at $2,000, a student loan that's I owe about $5,000 on, and a bank loan of just under $5,000 owing. I am unemployed and need to make payments each month obviously for each of my debts. My dream is to travel the country, get off the grid as best I can, and one of my best friends wants me to join with him this spring to travel. I need to be out of debt by then. I know there are obvious answers like work my way out, but realistically, can I get out of this? I've considered bankruptcy and running away but I want to be responsible. I made a bad mistake of putting myself in so much debt, that I will never make again. I will never spend another penny I don't have.. Im stupid stupid stupid .. and I think it's right that I fix it..even though I feel ripped off anyway lol. So can anybody offer me any advice? Its been very difficult to find employment, I can't remember how good it feels to be debt free. Thank you for reading.

Looking for debt advice?
I am really struggling with money at the moment and my debt is getting on top of me. I realise that it is my own fault that I have debt and am trying my best to keep on top of things but it is really getting me down. I am always worrying about money as is everyone in the current climate and am looking for some advice as to where to go or who is the best person to speak to about debt. There are so many companies out there wanting to consolidate your debt but I'm not sure if they have 'hidden agendas' and am worried that I could end up in more debt. Can anyone help me please? Many thanks in advance

I need debt advice badly?
i am just leaving college and on top of my student loans, i have credit card debt, about 12k. not so much from outrageous spending, i had only 4k on it going into school, but i ended up putting a school term on it when i didnt get a student loan, and on top of that the interest has been piling up. other than that time for my school term two years ago, i have not used it. i need some serious financial help. i dont have a job yet, im not expecting that an entry job when i find one will pay me extremely well, and cant afford to pay both. and i cant bankrupt or " anything similar" which i guess means debt resettlement or those consumer proposals on my credit card because if i do i will never qualify for a student loan again and i am too young and might regret it in the future that i dont have the option to upgrade my education because i once bankrupted. what options do i have?thanks for your reply GOD. i think consolidation means that i put all my debt into one payment correct? i only have one credit card and i cant really put my student loans on it because then i would not be eligible for any of the repayment assistance programs the government offers on student loans. the thing with getting a new interest free credit card is a good idea but i am 100 % positive i wont qualify for a new card due to my credit scoreSumDude i would love to move back in with my parents and pay the thing off but that option isnt available to me for two reasons, the first being that my parents have a full house of foster children and i have not had a room there since the day i left 7 years ago, the second reason being that they live in a rural area and with insurance and the cost of gas to spend an hour and a half on the road every day to get to the nearest town big enough to have jobs, it wouldnt save me much money in the first place.and the bank continuously raised my credit card limit higher and higher way back a long time ago before i started school at a time when i was making payments just fine and they wanted to make more money off me.

Credit card debt advice/help?
Hi, wondering if banks like wells fargo help lower credit card payments. My outstanding balance right now is $2,000 out of 3,000. Each payment each month is around $100 and I can't meet that minimum payment. Can I call them up and can they help me out? What about the choice of closing down the account? Will that help and then open it when I have all the money? Whats the best choice.. and I know they will send out mailers and call me on payments but will I go to jail or will I just permanently get bad credit score?I'm not waay out the woods yet, I can probably get loans from family but not certain. Aside from that, I just want to know what I can do.

Help... I need debt advice.?
I left town. I left a lot of things behind. Including bills. I have no idea how to find out what I owe or who I owe it to. I have received two phone calls from a debt collector. I owe 2,000 that I know of but I know there must be more. How do I find out an exact amount? I have no job and no money. I have a kid on the way and I have never been in this situation before. I don't know what to do and I'm scared. If anyone has been through something like this before or knows what I should do please help me.Thanks,Holly

Should i use 401k to pay off debt? advice needed please...?
i'm wondering which, if any, of my debts i should pay off with my 401k money. i have a one time penalty free withdrawal, and i would like to make the most of it. based on my debts, am i better off investing the 401k and letting it grow, or using it to pay off some all of my debts?ASSET401k money $75,000 minus whatever taxes will be taken out when i withdraw, this is what i have to play with DEBT$30,000 promissary note interest free to pay off over 20 years $125 month $6000 credit card currently on a promotional 0 % interest rate $1000 credit card 6.9 % interest $2000 student loan 2.5 % interest so, my debt is mostly low interest or interest free, and i'm wondering how to handle using the 401k money... pay some of it off, invest the rest? pay all of it off, invest the rest? continue making monthly payment, and invest the entire 401k?thanks in advance i got divorced and was told i had a one time opportunity to take out some money. was this incorrect information?

I owe over 100k in Credit card debt...advice?
I have numerous businesses, and numerous credit cards. I had impeccable credit until about 3 months ago, when the brown stuff hit the fan, and a lot of debt caught up with me. I feel totally responsible for the debt, but I thought it was more important to pay the medical bills for my twins that were born 3 months early they each have over 1.5M in medical bills...but I do have some insurance , than to pay my monthly minimums. The majority of my businesses are now costing me money monthly, and I can barely cover the bills. I have managed to keep all my mtg payments on time I do have rentals, but not much equity..if any..in all of them but I have missed the past 3 months payments on 8 or 9 credit cards, with balances totaling 130k or so. I get calls all day long, but decided to not answer any of them. I have spoken with not even one of the creditors in 3 months, and only a few leave msgs. I owe all our vehicles outright, and we are trying to sell one now...to pay off some bills...so there is no repo issues yet. I really hope to get some things I have in the works going, and hope to make deals with all of them to pay them in full....but who knows when or if that will happen. I am not real comfortable with BK, as I feel I am responsible for the debt I have taken on. To be taken to court do I need to be notified officially, or just regular mail? Can I be sent to jail for debt? Not sure what to do.....do I call the creditors and let them know I will pay soon? Do I let it ride for now? Is it better to deal with the creditors, or wait till they sell the debt to a collection company..... Any advice is appreciated.
