What is the best way to get out of debt?
What will be the best way to fix my credit score and get out of debt?
I'm a 23 year old college student. I have a part time job being that school takes up most of my time. I will be graduation by the end of this year, 2012. I have always had great credit, around 750. Times have been hard and I got a few credit cards to use to get me by the rough times and not having money. They started to added up very fast. I started with 2 credit cards and 2 store credit cards, but by the end of the year I had 5 credit cards, 4 maxed out, 5 store credit cards, all maxed out. Now I awe the $10,000 to all my credit card company's. I received a letter in the mail that one of my credit cards reduced my credit line and that my credit score has decreased to 603. To top it all off i get a letter from the courts that I owe $20,000 to a hospital from 4 years ago when I was in an accident. I have a court date 3 mounts from not, in April. I assumed that my lawyer payed all of my bills with the settlement that I received but I guess not. As of now I work in a restaurant not making enough money to get by, but I have been turning in resumes to find a career once I graduate from college. So what I'm asking is, what will be the best why for me to pay off the credit card company's, pay the hospital bill, and work to restore my credit back to the 700's where I once had it.

What is the best way to get out of debt and rebuild?
I will be getting out of college soon and a divorce so I have some debt just under $10,000 and I'm wondering what is the best way to pay it down and rebuild? I don't have any credit cards, there is one charge off which was something that was my husband's and I am hoping that will be removed from my credit when the divorce is final. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks No, this is separate from student loans.

What would be the best plan to get out of debt?
I used to have a good job as a supervisor. I made the mistake of running my credit cards up and started using careone credit where they consolodate all of your credit caeds into 1 monthly payment. On that plan I will pay $350 month for around 3 years to pay off that debt. In August if 2010 my brother died of a sudden massive heart attack, then on Christmas day 2010 my other brother committed suicide. It took a toll on my health. I am a female who is only 30 but have high blood pressure and had generalized anxiety disorder before the deaths of my brothers. After these deaths I developed severe anxiety disorder and panick disorder. I cannot leave my house for more than an hour or so without having major panic attacks... some of which send me to the hospital emergency room. Due to this I was no longer able to do the job that I had done for over 7 years. My hospital bills have added up to a very large amount... around $8,000. They turned my accounts over to collection agency and they want me to pay $300 a month on the bill which at the moment I cannot afford simce I have no job. All of my doctors reccomended me for disability thru social security because I most days can't function normally without having these attacks. When I talk to the collection agency I try to get them to work with me and let me pay a lower amount until I have more money to send but all they ask is " do you own your house?" Then say they will have to take legal action if I dont pay them this amount every month. How can I dig out of this hole Im trying to pay them I just cannot afford what they want every month. Any ideas? Can they take my house? Its a double wide trailer that sits on my fathers private property. At my wits end Everyone handles death differantly. I have worked ever since I was 14 so I am not lazy. I love work. I am in counciling 3 times a weeek. It started to help a little then my nephew killed himself like his father did Sept. 2011. I cant help that I have these conditions and would love to be better... Im not pathetic. you're a jerk

How to get out of debt!?
So I just got my first credit card in the fall of 2011. I was doing a good job of ONLY using it for gas and food for 3 or so months until my sisters car broke down. I don't think it was my fault but I was the one driving it at the time, so I felt obligated to pay for it. That was the first time I had a balance of $400 out of my credit limit of 4,000. Once I allowed myself to pay for that car repair bill, things went down hill. I started purchasing all kinds of gadgets and spending money while going out with friends etc.Sadly I've used up about 3,800 of that 4,000 limit and I'm ready to get rid of this debt so I can manage my money better. My first step that I took was by cutting the credit card so I can no longer purchase things with money I don't have. My next step was to only keep $100 from my paycheck for gas and food, and to throw the rest of my paycheck into a savings account. I currently have about $700 saving in my Bank Of America savings account, and I'm basically just trying to keep all the money saved until I reach 4,000 to pay the card off.So do you all have any other advice for getting these debt paid off? Do you think I'm taking steps in the right direction so far? Thanks for the advice
19,400 in credit debt at 26 years old. Save money or just focus on getting out of debt?
OK, I'm a college graduate. I have no student loans. No car note. No house note. I make 32k a year in Oklahoma City and my rent is 375 a month for a pretty decent apartment. The cost of living in Oklahoma is really low. Anyway, I'm 19,500 in credit card debt. I'm 26 and I do have a payment plan that would have me out of debt when I'm 30. My job offers a great 401k plan....but I'm wondering if I should put everything I have toward getting out of CC debt and not save anything until I'm debt free, or am at least close to it.OK...so most agree to focus just on paying it off. I also have a mutual fund currently at 1,200. Should I cash that out and put that towards my debt as well?
